Paul, Edwards impress at NAAA Track Series No 4

07/03/2021

Gianna Paul of Concorde and Zenith’s Mickelle Edwards were the outstanding performers at the NAAA Track Series No 4 at the Dwight Yorke Stadium, Bacolet on Saturday.

Paul won the girls Under-17 high jump with a distance of 1.60 metres, getting over the proposed Carifta standard of 1.58m. She was the lone competitor to clear a height as Aneika Alexander (Rss Pheonix) failed to get over her opening height. Paul matched the distance she cleared at the third meet in the NAAA series on February 28 at the Hasely Crawford Stadium in Mucurapo, Port-of-Spain.

Edwards captured the boys U-20 javelin with a throw of 48.75m, getting beyond the Carifta standard of 48.50m. Justin Fisher (Rss Pheonix) was second with a distance of 47.75.

Tobago Falcons’ Kimani Kent recorded his fourth win of the series triumphing in the boys U-17 long jump. Kent had a best leap of 5.55m. He was also victorious in the 110m hurdles and high jump at the Third Meet and secured the long jump at the First Meet at the Hasely Crawford Stadium on Feb 13.

Christopher Crawford (Tobago Falcons), Jayda Williams (Simplex) claimed their second wins of the series. Crawford came out on top in the men’s discus (47.84m), just short of his 49.71m win in the event at the second meet at the Hasely Crawford Stadium on February 14.

Williams leapt to the top spot in the girls U-20 long jump (5.42m) ahead of Jinell Campbell (Mason Hall Police Youth Club) with 4.77m. Williams prevailed at the first meet with 5.28m.
