Stanisclaus, Lewis among Carifta qualifiers

Stanisclaus, Lewis among Carifta qualifiers

Sprinters Ayla Stanisclaus and Akilah Lewis were among eight qualifiers on day one of the Carifta trials, at the Hasely Crawford Stadium in Port of Spain, yesterday.

In a keenly contested Girls Under-20 100 metres “A” final, Stanisclaus finished strong to get the better of Lewis. Stanisclaus stopped the clock at 11.58 seconds, well inside the 11.71 Carifta standard. Lewis also bettered the qualifying time, claiming second spot in 11.65.
