Lendore wins in Grenada

Trinidad and Tobago's Deon Lendore claimed top spot in the Grenada Invitational men's 400 metres "B" race at the Kirani James Athletics Stadium in St George's, Grenada, late on Saturday. The two-time IAAF World Indoor Championship 400m bronze medallist got home in 46.05 seconds to finish ahead of American Michael Berry, the runner-up in 46.38. T&T's Renny Quow was third in 46.93.
Lendore had the third fastest one-lap time at the meet. Grenadian Bralon Taplin was fastest on the day, clocking 44.92 seconds to win the "A" race. American Vernon Norwood was second in 45.43, while fifth spot went to T&T's Asa Guevara in 46.92.
Kyle Greaux picked up bronze for T&T in the men's 200m with a 20.51 seconds clocking. Great Britain's Miguel Francis topped the field in a meet record time of 20.16, while silver went to Canadian Andre De Grasse (20.20).
The men's 200m "B" race was won by American Christopher Blecher in 20.42 seconds. Briton Delano Williams (20.49) finished second. T&T twins Jonathan and Nathan Farinha were third and fifth, respectively, clocking 20.73 and 21.39. Another T&T sprinter, Emmanuel Callender was sixth in 21.67.
T&T's Andwuelle Wright disturbed the sand at 8.00 metres to bag bronze in the men's long jump. Jamaican Tajay Gayle grabbed gold with a meet record leap of 8.20m, while silver went to Guyana's Emanuel Archibald (8.05m).
Sparkle McKnight produced a 56.07 seconds run to claim bronze for T&T in the women's 400m hurdles. Top spot went to Yanique Haye-Smith, the Turks & Caicos Islands athlete getting home in 55.65.
T&T halfmiler Alena Brooks returned a time of two minutes, 04.86 seconds to secure fourth spot in the women's 800m. A 2:01.96 meet record run earned gold for France's Cynthia Anais.
T&T sprinter Semoy Hackett clocked 11.60 seconds for fifth spot in the women's 100m dash. Jamaica's two-time Olympic sprint champion Shelly-Ann Fraser-Pryce was golden in 11.20—a new meet record.

Callender was fifth in the men's 100m "B" race in 10.74 seconds. Briton Adam Gimili won the "A" race in 10.11, while top spot in the "B" race went to Archibald in 10.33.
T&T's Kai Selvon finished sixth in the women's 200m in 23.88 seconds. Hackett was a non-finisher. The race was won by Bahamian Tynia Gaither in 23.07.
In the men's 400m hurdles, T&T's Jameel Joseph was seventh in 59.81 seconds. Bahamian Jeffery Gibson struck gold in 50.17, forcing American Quincy Downing (50.31) and Jamaican Javarn Gallimore (50.69) to settle for silver and bronze, respectively.
