Kwame Laurence :: Trinidad Express :: Trinidad Express :: 09.08.2018

Jereem "The Dream" Richards will open his bid for the North American, Central American and Caribbean (NACAC) Senior Track and Field Championship men's 200 metres title at the Varsity Stadium in Toronto, Canada, this morning. Richards and national champion Kyle Greaux fly the Trinidad and Tobago flag in the men's half-lap, and will be on show in the opening round, scheduled to start at 11.40.

Richards, Greaux and Canadian Aaron Brown are tipped to climb the podium. All three have dived under 20 seconds this year. Richards has clocked 19.99 seconds, while Brown has a 19.98 run to his name. Greaux, though, is the fastest of the trio in 2018, having produced a 19.97 sizzler in the semi-final round at the Central American and Caribbean (CAC) Games in Barranquilla, Colombia.
